Sanxia Airport gears up for Spring Festival travel rush

On January 14, the first day of the Spring Festival travel rush, Yichang Sanxia International Airport increased its flight capacity on routes to Beijing to four times per week. All operated by Air China, the flights are scheduled to leave Beijing on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1:55 pm, and arrive in Yichang at 4:15 pm. Return flights will take off on the same days at 5:10 pm and land in Beijing at 7:30 pm.
The airport is increasing the number of flights to additional major destinations like Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shanghai. It is expected to handle 405,000 passengers during the 40-day Spring Festival travel rush, ending on February 22.
