The Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-Speed Railway, also known as the Yangtze River High-speed Railway, connects six provinces: Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Chongqing, and Sichuan. It stretches approximately 2,100 kilometers with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. This railway is a key element of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. Once completed, it will connect the Yangtze River Delta, the Central China Triangle, and the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

Dangyangxi Railway Station’s construction area covers nearly 12,000 square meters. Located on Yuquan Street, it is 4km from the city center of Dangyang.

The station has two platforms and four lines. It is designed with a maximum capacity of hosting 600 people and is expected to handle a peak hourly passenger flow of 642 people.

The station is currently undergoing interior finishing work, including platform floor paving, ceiling installation and the addition of glass curtain walls.

When the station opens, passengers will be able to take the high-speed train directly to Wuhan, cutting the travel time from three or four hours to just about one hour.
