The Three Gorges Hub achieved a cargo throughput of 159 million tons in 2024. The Three Gorges ship lock conducted over 10,000 operations, accounting for 154 million tons of the total throughput, while the ship lift completed more than 4,700 operations, moving 5.03 million tons, reflecting a 5.1 percent year-on-year increase.

Since last year, the Three Gorges Navigation Authority has ensured the full-load operation of the single-line channel and implemented dynamic draft control for the Gezhouba approach. Additionally, old, small, and low-standard ships as well as those carrying hazardous goods, are being scheduled to cross the dam in a safe and orderly manner.
Thanks to the implementation of the Ship Reporting System, security checks, and dynamic monitoring, operations have ran efficiently without any fatalities, ship sinking, or pollution accidents.
The Three Gorges Hub has completed its annual maintenance for the northern ship lock and ship lift in 2024, including upgrades to the control systems, ensuring safe and stable operations of navigation structures.
The China Three Gorges Corporation reported that the project has significantly supported flood control, power generation, water replenishment, and ecological improvements, laying a strong foundation for the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
