Yichang shipyard begins building world’s largest pure electric bulk carrier

This bulk carrier is 105 meters in length, 16.2 meters in width, and 5.3 meters in depth. It has a designed draft of 6.5 meters and a maximum deadweight of 13,740 tons.
Equipped with 12 power supply boxes boasting a 24,000-kWh storage capacity, the ship will have a range of 500 kilometers on a single charge. All the power supply boxes are swappable containers, which greatly reduces power-supply time.

This ship is also installed with an intelligent driving control system newly developed for large ships on the Yangtze River, improving the safety and efficiency of navigation.
As one of the four major shipbuilding bases in Yichang, Zigui County is making progress in the adoption of green ships and new energy vessels.
At present, shipbuilding companies in Zigui have completed the construction of four green ships. One is still under construction and another three are waiting to be built.
