Starting September 25, 2014, Chinese tourists have been able to enter the scenic area for free, with a charge of 35 yuan (US$4.80) per person for the bus ride to Tanziling, Platform 185, and the Cut-off Memorial Park.
Yichang has played a crucial role in the Three Gorges Project, providing land, resources, and coordinating efforts since construction began on December 14, 1994. The project has brought significant benefits to Yichang in flood control, power generation, navigation, and water management.
The Three Gorges Dam Scenic Area, recognized as one of China's top 5A scenic spots, is a popular destination for visitors to the Three Gorges area and serves as a model for industrial tourism.
During the promotional period, locals and Yichang students can enjoy this trip for free by presenting their ID cards or student IDs.
