Yichang Public Transport Group has added 50 new energy buses to its fleet, bringing it closer to its goal of deploying 200 new energy buses by 2024. Of the 50 new buses, 20 will be used on routes connecting downtown Yichang and Dianjun District.
These buses, which have either 23 or 27 seats, are equipped with ample power, produce minimal noise, and have zero carbon emissions. They all feature air suspension, which improves ride comfort compared to traditional energy buses.
Currently, Yichang's bus fleet includes 383 new energy buses, accounting for 52 percent of the city's total buses. With the addition of another 150 new energy buses later this year, carbon emissions will be reduced by 20,000 tons annually. Yichang aims to replace all fossil fuel buses with new energy models by the end of 2025.
