"Small fish and dried fish are very popular. We are increasing production to meet orders for the Chinese New Year," said Chen Zhuoling, deputy general manager of Tulaohan, a leading agricultural group in Yichang.
The growing sales of Qingjiang Wild Fish reflect the development of Yichang's aquatic product processing industry.
Aquatic product processing is a crucial sector of Yichang's aquatic industry, one of the city's eight key agricultural industries.
Yichang supports the growth of aquatic processing enterprises to enhance the quality and efficiency of the aquatic industry.
"Yichang's abundant freshwater fish resources provide ample raw materials for downstream processing of aquatic products, contributing to the flourishing aquatic product processing industry in the city," said Yang Jun, head of the Yichang Aquatic Technology Station.
Over the years, Yichang has diversified its processed aquatic product offerings, including sturgeon caviar, frozen fish, surimi, dry pickled products, and aquatic leisure food.
