Yichang’s major citrus fruit producing district, Yiling, has planted more than 22,000 hectares of fruit. Recent advancements in the citrus industry chain have led to higher incomes for local communities.
At Yiling District’s National Modern Agriculture Industrial Park, automated production lines are running smoothly, processing over 500 tons of fresh citrus daily.
From fruit and juice to peel, every part of the fruit is used and transformed into either food, drinks, or raw materials for cosmetics.
The extension of the citrus processing industry chain means that packaging, logistics and cold chain storage sectors experience rapid development.
The industrial park features a citrus deep processing center, e-commerce center, data and service center, agricultural product trading center, and cold chain storage center, covering all aspects of the industry chain.
By November 15, the district has sold a total of 531,000 tons of citrus. Additionally, Yichang City has exported 49,000 tons of citrus to 10 overseas markets, including Russia, Kazakhstan, and Thailand.
