Yichang Sanxia International Airport will introduce five new routes and increase flight frequency when airlines commence China’s 2024/2025 winter-spring flight season on October 27.

The new routes include Yichang-Xuzhou, Yichang-Yangzhou, Yichang-Beihai, Yichang-Yantai-Shenyang, and Kunming-Yichang-Jinan.

The Yichang-Xuzhou, Yichang-Yantai-Shenyang, and Kunming-Yichang-Jinan routes will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

The Yichang-Yangzhou route will be available every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, while the Yichang-Beihai route will run every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Additionally, there will be increased flights between Yichang and Jinan, Dalian, and Guiyang.

By then, 15 domestic and foreign airlines will operate 36 passenger routes to 41 destinations, along with one cargo route between Yichang and Zhengzhou.

Built in 1996, the airport was expanded to include international routes on July 13, 2023, making it the second international airport in Hubei Province, following Wuhan's Tianhe Airport. In April 2024, it was renamed Yichang Sanxia International Airport.

The airport currently offers regular international flights to Bangkok, Thailand; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and Seoul, South Korea. It plans to introduce additional routes this year, including destinations in Haikou and Singapore.
