Historically, the semiconductor industry has relied on synthetic graphite paper. The cost of its natural counterpart is approximately one eighth of the manmade ones, but Chinese companies have been unable to produce it before Yichang Xincheng achieved this breakthrough.

The enhanced carbon content purity translates to superior conductivity for chips and the paper is also used to make sealing materials for nuclear plants.
Chairman Yue Bing said: "Our flexible graphite paper contains no sulfur, fluorine, or chlorine. The absence of sulfur prevents corrosion of steel, while being free from fluorine and chlorine makes it environmentally friendly."

As demand for these products continues to grow, Yichang Xincheng has orders scheduled through the end of this year. To meet rising demands, the company plans to expand its production capacity from 11 to 20 lines by the end of the year, increasing total output to 12,000 tons.
As China's largest producer of flexible graphite, Yichang Xincheng focuses on six major innovative products, including nuclear-grade flexible graphite sheets and high-multiplication expandable graphite. In 2022, it was awarded the title of a national “Little Giant” enterprise, with over 80 percent of its products exported to international markets.
