On the final day of China's National Day holiday, Yichang East Railway Station sent off 71,000 passengers. It breaks the station's single-day record and marks the conclusion of the Golden Week transportation period.
The Yichang section prompted a "railway + tourism" initiative during the holiday, boosting tourist numbers to spots such as the Three Gorges Dam in Yichang and the Tenglong Cave Scenic Area in Enshi. This led to 852,000 passengers traveling through the ten stations under the Yichang section's administration.
Notably, Yichang East Railway Station alone saw a 6.1 percent increase in passengers to 431,000, setting a new record since the opening of the Yichang - Wanzhou railway.
To meet varied travel demands, the Yichang section adjusted its train capacity. It adds 1,200 temporary trains and 680 night-time high-speed trains based on pre-sale data and analysis of historical passenger flow.
