New section of Yixing railway nears completion

Expected to be put into use in the second half of 2025, the Yichang-Xingshan High-speed Railway link has confirmed Thursday to connect Yichang East Railway Station and Yichang North Railway Station.
The Yixing link will span 109 kilometers with a designed speed of 350 km/h. Upon its completion, travel time between Xingshan and Yichang will be shortened to about 20 minutes and Yichang’s main urban area will have a connection to the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway.
Yichang East Railway Station is on the Wuhan-Yichang Railway, currently the main high-speed railway to and from Yichang. Xingshan Station, located along the Hubei section of the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway, was opened in June, 2022.
Yichang North Railway Station is located in Longquan Town, Yiling District, Yichang City, with a construction area of about 80,000 square meters and a scale of 9 platforms and 20 lines. It’s a crucial station along the Wuhan-Yichang and Yichang-Fuling sections of the high-speed railway along the Yangtze River.
