Work has now shifted focus to the steel roof with the completion of the station building structure a few days ago, marking a significant milestone in its construction.

This massive, super-long concrete structure will cover a total area of 173,300 square meters, of which the station building occupies nearly 80,000 square meters.
"For the first time, we applied ‘skip technology’ for super-large volume concrete in the construction of the station building," said Zhuang. By using the technology, the progress for the concrete construction of the station building was shortened by one and a half months, he added.
The method divided an extra-long concrete block into a number of smaller blocks to be built at intervals, and then connecting several blocks to form a whole. It has the advantages of solving the thermal stress of the concrete, simplifying the construction process, reducing costs and shortening the construction period.

The station is located in Longquan Town, Yiling District, Yichang City, 30 km from the city center. It is designed with a maximum capacity of 5,000 people and can dispatch as many as 2,942 people per hour. Once completed, it will serve as a major station for both the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-Speed Railway and the Yichang-Xingshan High-Speed Railway.
