Yichang achieves dual success in Foreign Trade and Cross-Border Tourism

In the first half of 2024, Yichang saw impressive growth in foreign trade and cross-border tourism, marked by increased import/export volumes, foreign investment, and new international flight routes.
During H1, Yichang’s foreign trade flourished, with the following key highlights:
1. Total import and export volume reached 22.29 billion yuan from between January and June, up 12.8% from the previous year.
2. Foreign investment rose as the city attracted $44.09 million in foreign capital, a significant year-on-year increase, with 13 new foreign-invested enterprises established.
3. Cross-border e-commerce transaction volume reached 1.04 billion yuan, up 132% year-on-year.
4. Import and export agreements totaled roughly 250 million yuan as 67 Yichang enterprises participated in 19 international exhibitions.
5. Foreign trade saw a massive advancement as Xiling District and Zigui County were approved as provincial-level foreign trade transformation and upgrading bases.
At the same time, Yichang’s Inbound and Outbound Tourism also experienced significant growth.
1. Opening of International Routes: Sanxia International Airport launched direct flights to Bangkok, Thailand; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and Seoul, South Korea.
2. Growth in Passenger Numbers: The number of inbound and outbound passengers exceeded 50,000.
Through the expansion of international platforms and the opening of new flight routes, Yichang has strengthened its global connections, driving simultaneous growth in both foreign trade and cross-border tourism.
