Vehicle battery giant in full swing

Hubei Dongyu Xinsheng New Energy Co., Ltd., a new energy power battery production enterprise in Yichang, achieved over 1.18 billion yuan (US$150 million) in output value in the first half of the year. The company began operation last autumn and delivered its first batch of products on October 10, 2023.
On August 7, in the workshop of Hubei Dongyu, rows of automated production equipment were operating at full swing to produce battery cells.
With three production lines at full capacity, the company can produce nearly 24,000 battery cells per day.
Each cell, a core component of new energy batteries, undergoes testing across 40,000 items to ensure product quality and stability.
According to company executives, the 166Ah and 212Ah ranges produced by Dongyu offer enhanced safety, faster charging, and longer endurance compared to ordinary battery cells. These ranges are widely used in the production of new energy vehicles from Dongfeng, Geely, and other companies.
Dongyu Xinsheng is jointly invested in by Sunwoda Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Motor Group, and Dongfeng Hongtai.
