The Three Gorges International Airport now has a total terminal area of 73,800 square meters, with 21 aircraft parking stands, 11 jet bridges, and over 2,100 waiting seats. The airport's annual passenger capacity has increased to at least 5 million.

The newly opened T2B terminal covers an area of 16,700 square meters. It features four new boarding gates, two new jet bridges, and two aircraft parking positions. The terminal also provides an additional 300 waiting seats.

Zhou Yi, Deputy General Manager of Yichang Three Gorges Airport Construction Co., Ltd, said that the new jet bridges, parking positions, and boarding gates in the T2B terminal are interconnected with the existing T2 terminal, serving domestic flights together. With this expansion, the domestic terminal's peak-hour departure capacity has increased from 1,500 passengers per hour to 2,200 passengers per hour, which effectively alleviates passenger congestion during peak periods.

The T2B terminal also includes various amenities to meet diverse traveler needs. These include a commercial area with dining, retail, leisure, and convenience services, as well as first-class lounges and nursing rooms.
This is the third terminal to open at Three Gorges International Airport, following T1 and T2. Passengers should note that currently, T2B does not have its own check-in or security screening processes. Domestic travelers still need to complete check-in and security procedures at the T2 terminal before entering the waiting area.
