Emergency landing at Yichang airport saves passenger's life

On July 26, the Three Gorges International Airport facilitated an emergency landing for a flight from Chengdu to Wuhan, saving the life of a seriously ill passenger.

At around 10 am, a male passenger on the Eastern Airlines' flight MU2457 from Chengdu to Wuhan experienced severe abdominal pain while the plane was cruising at an altitude of 10,000 meters.

At 10:33 am, the Three Gorges International Airport received a call and immediately began organizing medical resources and rescue vehicles. “Flight MU2457 reports a passenger with abdominal pain, needing to divert to Yichang. The estimated landing time is 11 am. Please arrange for medical assistance.”

Within 15 minutes, a rescue team consisting of medical personnel, airport staff, and police were assembled, ready to assist the patient.

At 11 am, the flight landed at Three Gorges Airport, and the rescue team quickly boarded the plane to provide emergency treatment to the passenger.

By 11:19 am, the passenger was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

Thanks to efficient coordination between the crew, airport, and Yichang City's medical and transport units, the passenger's condition was stabilized.
