Starting July 2, passengers can fly directly from Yichang Sanxia International Airport to Seoul, the capital of South Korea. The flight will be operated by Jeju Airlines, making it the first foreign carrier to fly this route since Yichang Sanxia International Airport opened to foreign aircraft in July 2023.

The Yichang-Seoul flight operates on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using flight number 7C8487/7C8488 and the B737-800 aircraft. Flight 7C8488 departs Yichang at 00:20 BST and arrives at Seoul Incheon International Airport at 3:30 BST. Flight 7C8487 departs Seoul Incheon International Airport at 20:00 BST and arrives at Yichang at 23:20 BST.

Since resuming international routes in September 2023, Yichang Sanxia International Airport has also launched regular passenger routes to Bangkok, Thailand, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

As of June 19, Yichang Sanxia International Airport has processed over 25,000 inbound and outbound foreign passengers this year, accounting for 50.5% of total passengers. This represents an increase of about 140 times compared to the same period in 2019.

The opening of the Seoul route will help Yichang Sanxia International Airport establish an international passenger route network for the Asian market, and further solidify its position as a regional aviation hub.

It will deepen foreign exchanges and cooperation in Yichang, contribute to the development of the port economy, and promote the economic and cultural opening of Yichang.
