Yichang battery giant delivers energy storage container

Yichang Cornex New Energy Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. delivered its first batch of battery energy storage containers on June 14. The six 20-foot 5MWh containers, which have larger capacity, better performance, and lower operational cost compared to previous single cell products, will be shipped to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Since its production began in August of last year, Cornex's Yichang Plant has produced nearly 4GWh of battery cells, all in single-cell formats. In comparison, a new container consists of 48 battery packs. Each pack contains 13 314Ah battery cells.
"Once this batch of products is delivered, the plant will immediately start fulfilling an order for over 40 containers from the China Three Gorges Group," said Yang Yanjun, director of Cornex's container factory.
As of the end of 2023, Cornex was ranked 14th among global battery manufacturers in terms of energy storage battery delivery.
