Four parks in Yichang have been selected for the 2022 "Most Beautiful City Parks" in central China’s Hubei province, according to the province’s Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on Oct. 13.
The four parks are Mojishan Park, Chengdong Park, Taohuadao Park and Tian Wen Park. These four parks exhibit the progress made by Yichang in environmental protection and ecological restoration.
Tian Wen Park, which used to be a deserted beach, is now covered with plants. With an ancient atmosphere created by corridors, bridges, and pavilions, as well as having a straight 800-meter view of the Three Gorges Dam, the park has become a popular site for social media influencers.
Being the first mountain sports park in Yichang City, Chengdong Park aims to build a park with both mountains and greenways, and has designed three scenic routes for cycling, jogging, and climbing.
Mojishan Park is the largest park in Yichang City with a 217-meter peak best for getting a bird's eye view of the whole city.
Taohuadao Park occupies 360,000 m2 of land, integrating ecological restoration, public recreation, economic development, agriculture, and tourism all in one place.
Yichang has focused on cleaning up the shoreline of the Yangtze River to restore its ecological environment. The city has also worked to connect mountains and parks, enhance its beauty with colorful blossoms, and rebuild the city's water system by connecting rivers and waterways.
