Yichang girl, 16, wins silver in global shooting competition

Liu Yafei, 16, became the first Yichang athlete to win silver in a World Championship competition for shooting.
Liu joined Shen Ying and Yang Lanian to win the silver for Air Rifle Team Women Junior at the ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol event in Cairo, Egypt, yesterday. India took home the gold. To make the victory even sweeter, Liu had celebrated her 16th birthday just two days before.
Liu and Ye Yishun were the first shooters from Yichang to be selected by China’s national shooting team and had the opportunity to participate in an international shooting competition.
