Yichang holds online youth exchanges with Japan's Kashiwazaki
Youths from Yichang recently held a friendly online exchange with their counterparts in Kashiwazaki, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations.
Representatives from Yichang Foreign Languages High School and Kashiwazaki Shoyo Secondary School, communicated via online face-to-face video to further deepen the friendship between the two sister cities.
During the exchange, students from both cities introduced their respective urban cultures, campus life, local customs and practices, tourism, and cuisines. They also sent warm travel invitations to each other.
As Yichang is famous for its tea, some specialists from a local tea product company were invited to perform a tea ceremony and display the unique charm of Chinese tea culture.
The event was jointly held by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Yichang Municipality and the Industrial Promotion Department of Kashiwazaki City.
Yichang paired with Kashiwazaki, a coastal city of Japan’s northeastern Niigata Prefecture in 1997. Over the past 25 years, the two sister cities have carried out practical cooperation in various fields, including education, culture, and urban management.
