Yangtze River protection initiatives

Thirteen volunteer programs relating to Yangtze River protection from various cities and the Yangtze Ecology & Environment Co. were exhibited this Tuesday at Yichang's Protection Park. The volunteer programs focus on ecological promotion, watershed management, species conservation, water protection, beach cleanup, tree planting, and garbage sorting.
In addition to the displays, 10,000 Chinese sturgeons were recently released into the river to boost the wild population. The following day, Yichang released another 1,800 sturgeons at Lighthouse Square, marking the completion of the first half of 2024's breed and release efforts.
