Dangyang West Railway Station to open next year

The main structure of Dangyang West Railway Station was capped on April 18. The station is part of the Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-speed Railway, which runs from east to west along the Yangtze River.
Located on Yuquan Street in Dangyang, the new station is 4 kilometer from the city center. It is designed with a maximum capacity of 600 people and is expected to handle a peak hourly passenger flow of 642 individuals.
Workers will next focus on renovating the interior and installing equipment. The station is projected to be operational by 2025. By then, residents of Dangyang will have the convenience of catching a high-speed train to Wuhan directly from the station, without the need to transfer at Yichang East Railway Station. This will significantly reduce travel time from the current three to four hours to less than two hours.
