Yichang inaugurates first new energy and technology ship studio

The first new energy and technology ship studio in the Yangtze River basin was introduced this Monday in Yichang. The studio focuses on ship design, manufacturing and talent cultivation, giving a boost to the already growing new energy shipbuilding industry.
Over recent years, Yichang has intensively promoted green shipping and achieved fruitful results. On average, a new ship is launched here every three days; the construction of new energy vessels accounts for more than half of all those in Hubei Province.
Thanks to its excellent natural environment and solid industrial foundation, Yichang aims to become the largest green and smart ship manufacturing base in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River.
In March of last year, China's first green and intelligent ship R&D studio was inaugurated in Yichang and the Yichang Green and Intelligent Shipbuilding Industry Development Alliance was established this past July.
