China Three Gorges University (CTGU) held its 10th Peach Blossom Culture Festival today. Chinese and international students from 69 countries celebrated together, attracting tens of thousands of local citizens who were eager to experience the vibrant fusion of cultures.

The festival, centered around the theme of peach blossoms, featured performances of poetry, singing, dancing, and various talent shows by students from both China and abroad. The event was also livestreamed to the public.

CTGU currently hosts over 1,400 international students, with nearly 60 percent hailing from countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Jordan.

In addition to the festivities, the university launched a contest as part of the festival, inviting primary and secondary school students, as well as the general public, to submit short videos, essays, and paintings with the same peach blossom theme.

In Chinese culture, peaches symbolize longevity, while peach blossoms are renowned for their romantic associations in traditional literary works.
