Arrival of transformers advances solar plant construction

The transformers not only improve power transmission efficiency, but also reduce transmission losses and save operational costs.
"It converts the direct current (DC) electricity produced by the PV panels into alternating current (AC) electricity that can be fed into the public power grid," said He Youming, technical director of Xingfa Group's PV project department.
Xingfa Group invested over 41 million yuan (US$5.7 million) in the project, resulting in an average annual power generation capacity of 11 million kWh and annual revenue of 4 million yuan.

Compared to thermal power plants of equal capacity, the solar power plant can save approximately 3,400 tonnes of standard coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 8,359 tonnes, SO2 emissions by roughly 64 tonnes, and carbon dust emissions by 122 tonnes annually.
This photovoltaic power generation project complements agriculture by utilizing the same land for both farming and electricity generation.
Under the solar panels, people can grow economically valuable crops like Chinese medicine herbs and raise chickens. This project not only generates power but also increases income for local communities.
