Damen Yichang shipyard launches second export vessel of 2024

Damen Yichang Shipyard Co., Ltd. launched its second export vessel of the year on March 1, 2024. The multifunctional container ship, with a displacement of 3,850 tons, is scheduled for delivery to a German purchaser in May.
Damen Yichang Shipyard Co., Ltd. was established as a joint venture between Yichang Shipyard and Netherlands-based Damen Shipyards Gorinchem in 1998. Over the past 25 years, the yard has constructed more than 108 vessels, including cargo ships, tankers, tugs, dredgers, nuclear waste carriers, dual-use vessels, heavy lift barges, and floating docks.
This year, the shipyard plans to launch 15 multifunctional container ships destined for export to Germany, Turkey, and other countries.
