Yichang launches comprehensive service app

On February 27, the Yichang government launched a new app, My Yichang, which serves as a one-stop platform for various types of public services. This is also the first official news & living services mobile app for the city.

My Yichang has four sections: news, government, daily service and interaction.

The news section offers nationwide resources and information, with various newspapers, TV programs and radio channels all in one mobile app.

The government service section offers more than 200 services, such as social security, medical insurance and public housing funding.

The daily service section provides more than 180 items, such as car parking, bus information and charging pile locations.

The interactive section is an open platform where users can communicate directly with the local government through a service hosted by the “12345” citizen hotline team. This also offers e-commerce livestreaming and consumer coupons issuing among other functions.

My Yichang has embedded an intelligent recommendation engine to change the way that news is distributed, further enhancing the media functions. The development of this app will explore more useful experiences for the in-depth integration and further the development of prefecture-level media across the country.

At the launch ceremony, Yichang Three Gorges Media Center, who developed the app, signed cooperation agreements with 12 companies, including Beijing Founder Electronics Co., Ltd. and Beijing Baidu Netcom Technology Co., Ltd. They will jointly promote the development of My Yichang and plan to develop more applications in the future to bring a more convenient digital experience to Yichang residents.
