Yichang’s Yangtze River scenic spots and programs have witnessed a surge in popularity during the Spring Festival.

During most of the holiday, the Two Dams and One Gorge cruise was fully booked. The cruise name refers to the Gezhouba Dam, Three Gorges Dam, and Xiling Gorge along the Yangtze River near Yichang.

Among the six cruise ships is the Changjiang Sanxia 1, the world’s largest electric cruise ship. It served approximately 15,000 tourists over the Spring Festival, up more than 50 percent from last year’s holidays.

Zigui Port, known as the First Port on the Three Gorges Dam, serves as the start and end point for many Three Gorges tour routes.

Visitors can embark on a journey upstream to Chongqing or downstream to Wuhan from here, exploring the Yangtze River on their way.  Over the first four days of the Spring Festival, more than 10,000 people went through the port.

The Yangtze River, China's longest river, is rich in tourism opportunities, with spectacular landscapes and numerous historic and cultural sites. The Yichang section in particular boasts magnificent views of mountains and rivers, which helps in attracting tourists.
