Yichang named as National Model City for Healthy City Construction

Yichang City ranked 11th in the latest National Model Cities for Healthy City Construction ranking, which was recently released by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee Office.
Wuhan City was the other Hubei city which made the cut, ranking 26th.
The committee office, a government agency under China’s State Council, evaluated the healthy city construction work of 407 prefecture-level cities (districts) in 2021. Thirty cities/districts were given the model city title.
Yichang has won the title of National Sanitary City for four times consecutively in 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020, the only city in Hubei Province with such an achievement. Being named as a National Model City for Healthy City Construction means that Yichang has upgraded itself from a "sanitary city" to a "healthy city".
