Protection of Yangtze River exhibition draws big crowd during holiday
The Protection of Yangtze River Exhibition of Sustainable Practices is on display at the Lighthouse Square in Yichang City. The three themes of the exhibition are "Self Healing", "Made With Nature" and "Back To Origin". It presents the vision of Yichang's sustainable future as well as some industrial practices of circular economy model.
There are many interesting items on display, such as cement whose fuel is not coal but floating objects in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area, benches made of Yuan’an mushroom mycelia, soaps made from Yihong tea residue, and 3D printed table lamps made from blood orange fiber. There are also some household items, such as candle holders, cups and lamps, made of phosphogypsum, a common industrial waste coming from the production of phosphorus chemicals, which is a big industry along Yangtze River.
The exhibition also includes some installation works and a series of "Earth Art" works, which have attracted many visitors during the National Day holiday.
