According to CCCC Second Harbor Engineering, the bridge – 904 meters long and 44.5 meters wide – will be the world's widest cable-stayed bridge with I-shaped steel composite girders. It will stand nearly 300 meters above the valley floor.
A cable-stayed bridge has one or more towers from which cables are strung to the bridge deck to provide support.
The Yilai Expressway is a major east-west corridor in southern Hubei province.
