Yiling signs off on mega hybrid clean energy project

Yichang Cornex New Energy Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. and Huanengxiongfei (Beijing) New Energy Co., Ltd. will jointly invest 800 million yuan (US$111.58 million) to build a hybrid 200 MW wind power and photovoltaic new energy project. Once completed, it will generate 200 million kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to the annual power consumption of roughly 242,000 people.
This is the first major clean energy generation project for Yiling in recent years and will add momentum to the development of the district’s new energy industry.
Huanengxiongfei is committed to the investment, construction and operation of new energy projects, with the development and operation of wind power and photovoltaics at its core. Cornex will provide a one-stop energy storage solution, equipped with its battery equipment.
Yichang has a rich reserve of clean energy resources, with its wind and solar energy resources estimated to be more than 6 million kW.
At present, the total installed capacity of the Yichang photovoltaic power plant and wind power is 385,000 kW and 673,000 kW, A mega hybrid clean energy project has been signed for in Yiling District. There are plans to build a new energy generation project that will produce electricity through wind and photovoltaic sources once completed in an estimated three years.
In 2022, 298 million kWh and 1.238 billion kWh were generated.
It is expected that by 2030, Yichang will have more than 1 million kW of new photovoltaic and wind power generation capacity installed.
