Yichang firms sign record-high deals at Canton Fair

The Yichang delegation set a new transaction value record at the recently concluded Canton Fair.
The Canton Fair, or China Import and Export Fair, is a trade fair that has been held in the spring and autumn each year since the spring of 1957 in Guangzhou City, Guangdong province. It is the oldest, largest, and most representative trade fair in China.
At the recently concluded 134th session, 30 exhibitor companies from Yichang signed export deals combining for a total of US$12 million.
The Yichang companies included Zigui County Qugu Food Co., Ltd., Yichang Yafeng Medical Dressing Co., Ltd, Yichang Best Textile Co., Ltd., and Yichang Wuxing Technology Materials Co., Ltd. They held 39 exhibition booths and showcased products across 16 categories, including chemical materials, electronic and electrical products, machinery manufacturing tools, lighting products, and automobiles & accessories.
Additionally, this session set the record for number of Yichang booths present, reflecting the city's dynamic growth on the international stage.
The 2023 autumn session of the Canton Fair saw enthusiastic attendance by overseas buyers, with a total of 198,000 visitors during the three phases of the 15-day event, 50 percent higher than the 2023 spring session. Among them, approximately 126,000 buyers were from countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, accounting for about 64 percent of the total and about 70 percent more than the spring session.
