The first animation film focusing on the Yangtze River's ecology, "Dance with the Finless Porpoise", is officially scheduled for release on January 20, 2024.

The film unveils a mystical story set in the waters of the Yangtze: Jiang Ling, a finless porpoise deity, embarks on an adventure into the human world with the mission of saving her people. She braves numerous challenges and continues a thousand-year-old bond between humans and finless porpoises.

Employing China's leading-edge animation technology, the film presents the ultimate expression of Eastern romantic aesthetics. While inviting the audience to be moved by the splendid beauty of Eastern mythology, it also calls for the protection of the Yangtze River and the protection of finless porpoises.

The finless porpoise is a rare animal as endangered as the giant pandas in China. As the ecology of the Yangtze River has improved in recent years, porpoises have been spotted more frequently in Yichang City.
