Western Hubei's biggest domestic garbage power project went live in Yichang on October 27 after five months of testing.
The waste-to-energy plant in Fenghuangguan Village occupies 11.2 hectares. During the trial period, it processed 240,000+ tons of garbage, generating 91 million kWh of green power—enough for six months of electricity for over 200,000 people.
By using waste, the plant saved more than 36,000 tons of standard coal. What’s more, the garbage leachate generated by the process is recycled after deep treatment.
