Yichang issued 52.5 billion yuan (US$ 7.1 billion) in new loans in H1, hitting the highest level for the same period in history and leading among equivalent cities in Hubei province. Outstanding loans grew by 15.24 percent year-on-year, 4.08 points higher than the provincial average.

In H1, financial institutions increased their support for key industries, such as manufacturing, agriculture, high-tech and new-energy. These measures have created the necessary momentum for local economic development. In the first half of the year, Yichang focused on starting a total of 468 major projects, with total investments of 316.5 billion yuan.
