Yichang's first international five-star hotel breaks ground

Construction began yesterday on the Sheraton Yichang Hotel, Yichang's first international five-star hotel, in Xiling District, a significant addition to the Yangtze River Three Gorges Cruise Center. The 26-floor Sheraton Yichang Hotel, managed by Marriott International, will have 248 rooms.
The hotel is located in the core area of the cruise center near the terminal, the yacht club, a hotel cluster, a commercial complex, a leisure area and other support facilities. Investment in the project is estimated at 6 billion yuan (US$826 million), with 2 million people able to use the facility each year.
Construction work also began yesterday on the terminal building. The building will have three floors above ground and two floors below ground and is a key part of the port complex, housing the ticketing hall, service center, leisure space, F&B service and other functional areas.
Construction of the Yacht Club was completed in June.
Both of the new projects are expected to be operational in 2027.
