Rare plants get their own corner in Juanqiaohe Wetland Park

In Juanqiaohe Wetland Park, a 2000-square-meter green space situated just 50 meters to the right of the iconic Rainbow Bridge has been set aside for a new garden: the “Garden of Introduced Species”.
In this new garden, 32 rare indigenous saplings have been meticulously planted.
Each plant species is accompanied by its own exclusive QR code, allowing citizens to explore their distinctive backgrounds with a simple scan.
These extraordinary species were initially discovered in Yichang and subsequently exported. They have now gained international recognition, but few people are aware of their Yichang origins.
By presenting these plants and their stories, the garden is raising awareness of Yichang’s abundant biodiversity and fostering knowledge of its exceptional native flora.
The "Garden of Introduced Species" in Juanqiao River Wetland was officially established by the Yichang government at the end of 2022.
