A group of village students showcased their talents Tuesday at the concluding ceremony of the Hong Yi School summer enrichment program in Changling Village, Yichang.

A vibrant display of creativity unfolded as more than 30 students proudly showcased their meticulous craftwork, calligraphy and paintings. Their dance performances, chorus singing and poetry recitations also drew warm applause from the audience.

Hong Yi School is a collaborative initiative between the Changling Village Committee and the Three Gorges Navigation Authority. The program began on July 17. Over the next two weeks, more than 30 primary and secondary students delved into a diverse curriculum spanning ten subjects.

Guided by dedicated educators and volunteers, the students immersed themselves in calligraphy, fine arts, music, handicrafts and essential safety knowledge. They had the privilege of engaging with exemplary educators, accomplished writers and senior high school students who excelled in the College Entrance Examination (gaokao).

This summer marks the second edition of Hong Yi School. The program not only enriched the summer lives of children in Changling Village but also addressed issues such as lack of parental care and supervision for students during the summer.
