They explored many distinctive Yichang sites, including the Three Gorges Dam Tourist Area, the Hometown of Qu Yuan Tourist Area, the Zhaojun Village Ancient Han Culture Tour Site, the Wuling Mountain (Hubei) Wildlife Herbarium, the Chaibuxi National Forest Park, the Qinglin Leisure and Tourism Area, the Yuquan Mountain Scenic Spot, and the Citrus Culture Experience Center.

Aside from the excursions, they were able to study traditional Chinese cultural practices and skills, including Chinese paper-cutting, the art of Chinese tea, Chinese dance, Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese tie-dye, and Chinese kongfu.
"This is my first time in Yichang. I was born in Karlsruhe, Germany, but my ancestral home is in China’s Liaoning province,” said Pan Qing, a 16-year-old German-Chinese girl. “My parents love tea, and today I learned about the history of Yihong Black Tea. I also made tea for myself and my friends. I’m really interested in it."
