China's first hydrogen-fueled vessel, the Three Gorges Hydrogen Ship 1, has arrived at Yangjiawan Wharf in Yichang City, where it will undergo system debugging and navigational experiments.
The ship will be used for transport, patrol, emergency response and other tasks in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area and between the Three Gorges Dam and the Gezhouba Dam.
The vessel left Zhongshan Wharf in Guangdong Province, covering 950 nautical miles by sea and 1,722 kilometers by river before arriving in Yichang.
The hydrogen battery, which has an output power of 500kW, allows the ship to reach a maximum speed of 28km/h.
Eco-friendly, quiet and low on energy consumption, the new vessel is a milestone in the application of hydrogen energy technology to inland ships.
Hydrogen has a high energy conversion rate and zero emissions. An abundant and eco-friendly new energy, it has broad application prospects.
