Yichang enterprises harvest 1 billion yuan in Southeast Asia orders

Nine Yichang enterprises visited Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in late May for a 10-day business trip, capturing orders worth more than 1 billion yuan (US$ 140 million).
The Hubei Sub-Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) organized the event on behalf of 46 key foreign trade enterprises from Xiangyang, Yichang, Jingzhou, Suizhou, Xianning, Jingmen and Xiaogan. Industries covered included auto parts, electronics, cross-border e-commerce, food and agriculture.
In Singapore, companies such as Yilinghong, Changlin, and Daziran struck up relations with local firms. Sales agreements worth more than $5 million were signed on the spot in Malaysia. In Thailand, nine companies including Yilinghong and Qugu Food won orders of over 1 billion yuan.

ASEAN is an important trading partner for Yichang and for Hubei province. In the first quarter of this year, Hubei's imports and exports to ASEAN reached 23.66 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18%.
In 2022, the total value of Yichang's foreign trade import and export reached 41.47 billion yuan. ASEAN represented 7.02 billion yuan of this figure, making it the largest trading partner of the year.
