Olympic champion joins sport awareness event in Yichang

Zhao, a native of Yichang City, won both the badminton mixed doubles and women's doubles in the London 2012 Olympics. She was also recently chosen as the last torchbearer to light up the main torch at the opening ceremony for the 16th Hubei Provincial Games.

During the event on Saturday, she urged children and teenagers to be more active: "Let's go outdoors together, embrace health, and strive to be sunny Chinese teenagers in this new era!" She taught badminton skills to teenage players during exhibition matches. 

The "Happy Run, Passionate Youth" event is a national campaign led by China's General Administration of Sports aimed at encouraging sports and physical exercise among young people across the country.
