Zhou Yutang, president of Yichang Science and Technology Vocational College, said that the new college would focus on moral education and craftsmanship, and seek to enhance the adaptability and attractiveness of higher vocational education. He said he believed that it would provide highly-skilled personnel for Yichang.
The establishment of Yichang Science and Technology Vocational College means that the number of colleges and universities in Yichang has increased to seven. They are China Three Gorges University, China Three Gorges University Institute of Science and Technology, Hubei Three Gorges Vocational and Technical College, Three Gorges Tourism Vocational and Technical College, Three Gorges Electricity Vocational College, Yichang Science and Technology Vocational College, and Yichang Radio and Television University.
Yichang Science and Technology Vocational College, a new addition to the Yichang educational landscape, plans to recruit 1,500 students this year.
The majors offered by the college include digital design, manufacturing technology, intelligent electromechanical technology, automotive testing and maintenance technology, integrated media technology and operation, big data and accounting, as well as infant and childcare services and management.
